Our member companies produce the building blocks for everything from clean energy and safe drinking water to advanced manufacturing, consumer goods, and life-saving medical technologies. These capital-intensive operations represent more than $250 billion in facility assets across Texas, with nearly $6 billion invested each year in capital improvements to keep sites modern, efficient, and globally competitive. As a major contributor to public revenue, the chemical industry in Texas pays more than $2 billion annually in state and local taxes. Because of the capital-intensive nature of our facilities, chemical manufacturers provide a significant share of the state’s property tax base—supporting local schools, infrastructure, and public services across Texas.
